Yesterday I finally got round to cracking open my biggest stamps, this set of french stamps by Carabelle Studio from That's Crafty.
The set is A4 in size but comes complete with an A4 mountblock so I felt it was really good value. I was teaching a workshop for the fabulous Victoria Stampers stamp club in Warrington yesterday and used my demo piece as a background in my passport sized journal.
I just love the contrast of black and white imagery against a colourful background. It still needs more work but I'm not sure what yet so leaving it to sit awhile.
We decorated envelopes on the workshop, made tags and doodled/practised journal writing. It was a really fab day and I'll definitely be going back each month as an attendee as they are such a friendly bunch of people with some great workshops planned.
Sarah I've been waiting for this stamp to show itself!! It looks fab on your journal page love the black and white against the beautiful colour scheme of your background. I went and bought one too not used it yet though, they are huge!!

A great background and a great set of stamps, Sarah. I will look forward to the finished spread.
ReplyDeleteooh not seen them before Sarah - aren't they gorgeous. Makes me want to get out my zentangle book. your backgrounds show them off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI was so tempted to get one of these when I was at Version Scrap in Paris in April, but they sold out of the one I wanted so it's great to see it over here.. It looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI have not succumbed as yet but I might!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant.

Fabulous! Must admit I am VERY tempted by this stamp. Love your colour choice . Chrisxx
ReplyDeleteI love how you made the black and white border stamp completely stand out from the background. Would you share how you did it? Did you mask it, cut it out? How?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Cecilia
Hi Cecilia
DeleteI stamped it into white copier paper then cut it out and stuck it to the colourful journal page with a Pritt stick :) Thanks for visiting and glad you like it
Thanks Sarah for answering my question. I thought that would be the only way to get that result. I have to say that was a great cutting job!
DeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI stamped it on the page too so I didn't have to worry too much about some of the fine details xx
thanks for sharing how you made the stamp stand out, I was wondering about this as I have been looking through Pinterest for inspiration as I have some Carabelle stamps. Love your work.
