Yellow really isn't my colour, although it is definitely creeping into my box of supplies! A couple of years ago I wouldn't have been able to produce this journal page as I just never bought any products in yellow. But I've learnt what a great accent colour it can be, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed playing with it on it's own in my journal :)
Spring is certainly in the air here in the UK, and snowdrops and crocuses are adorning the gardens. The only yellow flowers that make it into my garden are daffodils, well, narcissi really as I love the creamy white ones with the yellowish trumpets. I also love the noise daffodils make - if you've never heard it, buy a bunch and once the flowers are open, shake them and listen to the sound as the stems and petals brush against each other :)
So do you have a colour you avoid? I'd love to know what it is. It intrigues me that we all have our own internal colour palette of colours we like and use.
The rest of the team really enjoyed working with these colors, Sarah...so glad that they worked out for you as well!
ReplyDeleteWe were ready for some sunshine and this challenge really set us up for that!
It's great having you along side of me....and I miss you! COME BACK HOME! ; )
Ilove yellow!! and the one I avoid in almost anything I buy is GREEN or even when painting, but sometimes is needed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful journal page Sarah! Thanks so much for the fresh & fun color palette this week to play with!
ReplyDeleteSarah, I think I'm with you on the yellow, but will raid my stash to see what I can find!! I love your journal page.
ReplyDeleteLove your journal page. The only colour I use less than yellow is orange - just can't seem to get it to sing. Having seen what you've done with a colour you don't get on with, though, I may just challenge myself with orange!
ReplyDeleteLove what you made... i don't normally do yellow either...but I am tempted to do something now LOL x
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, I love that I have met you in person now! These pages are great (so different to the ones we've done the last few days) I know what you mean about yellow - although I DO like it - it's such a bright happy colour, it's just that I don't use it much....strange isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt was great to meet you and Sue - I think we are classed as "a mini melange of hilariousness" on Dy's blog! Although I think it was Jane/Verity/Loocretia! who was the instigator!
Gorgeous pages, Sarah! My mom doesn't love yellow, either...I'm trying to change her mind! It is lovely for an accent color--cheers things up a bit!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful day!
Hi Sarah - I'm with you on yellow, but my all time least favourite would have to be peach! YUK! I Like yellow to look at but not craft with. Peach is just beyond awful... But I love to eat / drink more or less anything lemon flavoured! Hope I have time for the challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteHow your trip?
Beautiful....summery....sunshiny pages!
ReplyDeleteThere is something waiting for you on my blog.
ReplyDeleteYour journal is so pretty ... I don't use yellow.. but I'll try this time.. maybe is not in the color trend mmmm???
ReplyDeleteI love these bright journal pages. I love all colours really but tend to use blues less than other colours. No idea why.........
ReplyDeleteLesley x
I'm not a big bright yellow person so it was good to be stretched in my creativity this week. Worked well with the image.
ReplyDeleteLove how yours turned out!
I can feel the sun shining out of your stunning pages, Sarah. Love the yellow and the noise Daffs make!!
