a happy owl!

I think this owl might actually have a bit of a smile!

I'm not sure how, it must be something to do with his eyes!  But it does answer my question - is it possible to make a happy owl?  Not that that was the intention, I just had the design in my head and off to the sewing machine I went!  I've also managed a couple of Christmas cards this week...

But most of my time has been spent teaching, and practising the Christmas play.  I take classes in school whilst the teacher has her planning and preparation time.  On Monday I was a wise man in the play, Tuesday a shepherd and by Wednesday I'd been 'demoted' to a cow lol!

I have the privilege of working in two schools and they both put on stunning Christmas performances.  I helped with the dress rehearsal on Thursday in one and was a guest at the second on Friday.  The schools, and therefore the performances, are both very different, but the creative talents of the staff, and the hard work of the pupils in both produced amazing results.

pdcc#12 - shades of blue

I have a feeling that these shades of blue are going to look different on different people's computers, and to different people ( blue is one of those colours we seem to see differently, ever had that argument with your other half!!).  But that's what's great about the Play Date Cafe, you don't need to worry!

Whilst out shopping last week I came across a ball of wool that was three shades of blue twisted together.  And since I was in a crocheting mood, I invented this little wooly owl!  He's the first creature I've designed myself and I'm very pleased with him.

His eyes are made from old buttons from my button tin :)

And he loves to be outside in the branches of trees, but it was a little bit cold today so he came back in!  He is so nesh!!

Thanks for these colours Alison, love what they got me to produce :)

Diary 2010 project

This is something I signed up for a while ago but I was still on the last minute whilst doing it. It's free to contribute a page to the diary which then advertises your blog/etsy etc (although I'm not selling anything so no etsy for me at the moment!). I just thought it would be fun. I've been doodling these little owls for a while now, and curly branches/trees and I've carved one little owl as a rubber stamp. Let me know what you think, but be gentle with me, I'm nervous!!
